Join the Trail Committee of the Appalachian Mountain Clubs Connecticut Chapter on Saturday, July 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
and volunteer to maintain and preserve open spaces along the Appalachian Trail's Corridor.
The A.T. is a quilted ribbon of protected lands that stretch across the eastern seaboard. It's open spaces provide critical habitat for unique flora and fauna. Mowing and cutting back overgrown vegetation from the sides of the trail also helps protect hikers from ticks and preserves beautiful scenery.
Please be sure to wear long pants and sturdy boots. Bring plenty of water (2-3 liters) and snacks for the day, a lunch, sunscreen, bug spray, and a rain jacket.
