Join the Appalachian Trail Committee of the Appalachian Mountain Clubs Connecticut Chapter on Saturday, June 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
and help build a new section of the Appalachian Trail.
As part of Connecticut National Trails Day celebration, we will be continuing the process of building a short relocation of the current trail on Sharon Mountain. Work will include clearing small trees/brush, moving some rocks, setting some stone steps and some sidehilling. With enough help, we may be able to blaze and open it this day! We will be utilizing an old woods road to access the work site so we won't have to carry all of the tools quite so far. No experience necessary.
Please be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, a lunch, work gloves, sunscreen, and bug spray. Be aware that rain will cancel this event.
Advanced registration necessary; please use this form in registering.
