Bluebird Habitat Restoration

bluebird

In recent years Bluebird populations have been increasing due to the effective implementation of nesting boxes in the open fields that they live in. On Wednesday, April 18th from 9AM - 3PM the Connecticut chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club will be repairing/replacing any damaged Bluebird nesting boxes or their mounts. They will also be brushing along the tree line adjacent to the field and clearing out any dead trees as needed to better promote their habitat needs. Wear sturdy boots, long pants and work glove, and bring your own lunch, personal snacks, and water.

Meet at the Lion's Head trail head found at the end of Bunker Hill Rd in Salisbury, Connecticut.
